Frequently Asked Questions

What is copypaste.wiki?

A small pastebin: paste code or text, get a short link, share it or keep it to yourself.

What is the difference between Public, Unlisted and Private?

Public pastes appear in the archive, the sidebar and search. Unlisted pastes are hidden from all of those and can only be opened by someone who has the link. Private pastes can only be opened by you while you are logged in.

How does "Burn after read" work?

The paste is deleted the first time someone other than you opens it. Visitors see a warning first and have to confirm. The raw link deletes it too.

How do password-protected pastes work?

Visitors have to type the password before the paste is shown. The password is stored hashed, so nobody (including the site) can read it back. For raw links, add ?password=… to the URL.

How long are pastes kept?

Until the expiration you pick when creating it: from 10 minutes to 1 year, or never.

Is there a size limit?

Yes, 512 KB per paste.

Which languages can be highlighted?

Luau, Lua, JSON, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C++, C, C#, Java, Rust, Go, Bash, SQL, HTML / XML, CSS, YAML, INI / TOML, Markdown, Diff.

Can I get the raw text?

Every paste has a raw link at /raw/{id} that returns plain text, handy for scripts and HttpGet. There is also a download link.

Can I edit or delete a paste?

Yes, if you were logged in when you created it. Pastes created as a guest cannot be changed afterwards.
